Two local entrepreneurs have been awarded a fully-funded scholarship for Curtin University’s highly successful Ignition business program thanks to the sponsorship of the Town of Victoria Park.
Ignition is an intensive one-week training program for aspiring entrepreneurs, academics and corporate innovators to trial, then prepare business ideas for the commercial environment.
“The Town is fortunate to have a world-class knowledge and technology precinct in Curtin University and Technology Park in Bentley. We want to encourage and facilitate our businesses and individual entrepreneurs to progress their ideas and produce products, services and discoveries that will benefit the Town’s community, the wider Perth area, the state, the country or even the wider world – the possibilities are endless.
“The two successful recipients both have passion and ideas centred on helping those most in need in our community, which is something we absolutely encourage.”
The Town funded two places in the program for local residents or businesses who were assessed against a set criteria including their level of innovation and proposed business sustainability.
“The support, knowledge, networks and skills I will be able to build upon from the program will be invaluable, and I look forward to harnessing all that Ignition has to offer, so I am able to make a great impact in our community.”
